it took me several viewings before I recognized the hand beneath the water. what a powerful mystery. What finally wins me over is the roughness of the shapes, it really does feel like something is being restored, and it's a rough, painful process, or at least a profound process that requires disintegration and reintegration. I am reminded of Achilles being dipped into the holy waters, of Vulcan's forge, of Jesus's baptism. 10
a little concerning. makes me think of a drowning victim for some reason. maybe the dark processing brings to mind tragedy. scary really. still very beautiful as well. 8
