Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Stupid, Stupid! (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Location: At home in dining room.
Date: Aug 13, 2006
Aperture: F/9
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/2
Galleries: Humorous, Action
Date Uploaded: Aug 13, 2006

A proposed entry for the next Stopped Motion contest, but also suitable for Stupid, Stupid! A parody the cliche light bulb (or similar) smashing pictures.

No lenses were harmed in the making of this picture. I wish I had a $2000 Nikkor to smash rather than the Bigma.

Camera was set for repeating flash, 1/8 strength with 5 flashes over 1/2 second.

Post processing consisted of a crop off of the top, then curves to help hide the background (which was actually darker than the lens), reduction green and red levels, also to hide background. USM for edge contrast, resize, USM for sharpness, and save for Web.

Ineresting idea. This would have been a great stop motion or action shot. It meets the stupid challenge. It would be interesting to see what this would look like with a lighter or white background. Because you seem to loose the lens in the dark background. Also, there is some white specks to the left of the lens that is a bit distracting. I love the movement of the hammer.

Very dark photo with an annoying shadow in the background.
