I sincerely thank every one who did not ask what the other two people are doing on the edge of the bath tub.

Things that you mention in your critique really get me thinking if you should be in the Critique Club at all :) Just tell me, why would I want to eliminate a shadow on a girl's face? As for the legs on the bath tub... It does not take a genius to come up with at least two ideas why are they there. Come on, flex your brain muscule.

Hello from the Critique Club,

I remember when voting on this image that I thought you executed your idea very well but I was confused as to why the two people were standing in the background. Reading through the comments you received, I see that those two people ended up being a love or hate type thing for those that left comments. This probably holds true for the general voter’s as well and could have the reason why this image didn’t break into the sixes.

I would suggest the next time you take a picture with a strong side light that you use a reflector to fill in some of the shadows on the opposite side from the light source. With a little fill light on the left side of the image, the shadows on the face of the girl in the bathtub could have been eliminated. Congratulations on your top twenty finish and I look forward to seeing more of your entries in future challenges.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions regarding this critique.

Tim

There's a quality in this picture that surpasses its content.

Very well done with the lighting BTW. Very nicely balanced highlights.

The woman in the bath with the hairdryer I understand, but what's with the other 2 people? 7

very good.

This picture stands out from the rest of the stuff in this challenge (I barely made myself to finish voting). If not for the two people, standing over the bath tub, this would have been a fairly ordinary sample of an amaturely staged image, approaching the topic of the challenge in a boringly straightforward manner. With the two sets of legs, however, this image gains some intrigue, a taste of some out-of-the-ordinary life (which may be full of vanity, but still, a welcome taste of something else). 9

All round good shot .. hope the water was warm

Great setup...:) not easy with three models. Light could be bit softer but overall well done.

this is both terrifying and beatiful.

Feels like a snapshot

Very interesting shot. The little dangly things on the person on the right and the socks of the person on the left make this a humorous picture for me instead of macabre. Hope that is what you were going for.

wow--nice--it would have been cool if there were some evaporation/steam from the bathwater, if possible--but good capture

I like the bathtub idea, but why are there people standing on the tub?
08/18/2006 12:56:34 AM
This is a really creative shot. Good job.

I'm not sure why you included the other two people, and why are they standing on the side of the tub? Without them this photo would have made much more sense. As it is, it is still one of the better ones in the challenge.

nice concept, excellent execution and a beautiful model.

I don't get the title...anyhow, a nice shot that I don't quite understand (I get the electricity thing with the hairdryer and water) but I don't het the other girls etc...
08/16/2006 02:38:33 AM
I love toe socks <3
08/16/2006 12:58:35 AM
Extra point for hot girl in the tub, even if clothed.

Wait a minute, don't I recognize those socks? Nice shot. Good lighting. Definately stupid.

Nice going.
