I wish that the flame was a bit bigger. I am sure I will not score well because my "Fire" is so small. I have tried to reshoot this and it is just not working. Since I love this picture I am going to leave it the way it is and hope for the best.

Oh my goodness. So amazingly, amazingly wonderful. There are some things that I think voters as a whole will not like... maybe how the colors don't "pop" enough or maybe this part or that part needs to be in more focus or something else. But I think this is an outstanding shot. It meets the challenge in such a creative way. The colors, while understated, fit very well what the image is, I feel, trying to portray. The iris is dramatic but draws attention toward the reflection of the candle rather than keeping it all for itself.

So, to sum up... amazing.

(I personally would have cropped this really tight around the iris. But I think that's why I don't score very well, hehe ;-) This is totally not a criticism or complaint or anything... in fact I think you cropped it wonderfully. I hope all that makes sense.)

Wow the macro in the eye is amazing, but really the fire is not the main element here, maybe you should have used a big torch or something like that.

Great idea - the flame is a bit small in the eye though

Great idea. I love the close up of the eye. The candle I feel needs to be larger. It was hard to tell that there was a candle.

Nice! A bit more contrast on the eye would work better IMHO.

Bet this took several tries. The pattern in that eye is amazing.

Your photo is very tasty - like eye-candy! I can't vote in this challenge, but if I could, I'd give it a 10.

Nice DoF, nice desat, nice detail in the iris, but I'm not sure that the reflection I'm seeing is a flame. It's really too small to be the subject of the photo.

Nice idea and good focus. You might want to dodge the candle in the eye a little to make it stand out just a bit more, and I'm afraid the selective desaturation really doesn't add to the image at all. Perhaps if the iris was also desaturated and just the reflection left in color it would work better.

So very hard to see the fire in this image. The macro of the eye and the desat is cool but I yearn for the burn. Needs more fire. I was gonna give you a 4 but I will bump to a 5 cuz of the technicals.

Great use of selective desat, love the depth and color of the eye. The reflection could have been a bit more prominent, but as is, still a great shot!

GREAT shot of the eye.
But the candle is difficult to make out.
I can see the flame, but maybe a bigger whiter longer candle would have been more impactful?

Very subtle, bumping up, I like it. Good luck. 8

I like the concept. I'd prefer more color in the eye and lid area, plus a bigger image of the candle. Still
nice image.

wonderfully captured eye. 7 (yer gonna get hammered on this one because the candle occupies, what, 200 pixels?)
