Wow!!! I have tried so many times to capture the bee in flight. Always unsuccessfully. This is stunning perfection!!!!

One of the best insect images in this challenge. The bee just pops out at the viewer, and the purple flowers are a great compliment. I'd like to see the bee up closer, maybe cropped the right and top just a bit as not to change the nice lines of the flowers too much.

Excellent shutter speed/aperture combo, although I'm not sold on the square crop entirely. Bumping to an 8.

Hey! That's nice and sharp. Good job of stopping the motion - mostly. Is that an air conditioning unit in the background? Doesn't matter...just taking a guess. ;^) Best of luck to you in the challenge.

those darn bees are always flying over the most unfortunate backgrounds! This is a great capture, you must have been shooting REALLY fast to freeze that wing. But the background is so messy!. Maybe if you would have cropped right down so the bee is all the way to the right of the frame and that slanting purple to the left? Don't know what resolution your working with of course, but for the challenges I try to just think screen resolution and crop that baby down!

Nice work though, these are hard to get - in fact I've stopped trying. ;-)

Love the DOF, the colors of the flowers and bee. Nice and crisp.

good DOF for this - although as a person who has a phobia of bees it gives me the creeps. still - nice shots get nice scores :-)

Well done, a tighter crop may have made this really "pop" 8

a wider aperture would have blurred out the messy background and made the bee really POP, you would have also had a faster shutter speed to stop the action of the bee's wings...
