I guess it was so much easier for me to think of this as Zen. Picture yourself walking through this really nice, huge garden. And it's nearly silent except for a gentle breeze and trickling water from a nearby fountain. (a Japanese fountain seen in outtake #2......) Then while walking you see this little guy's sihlouette slowly creeping up that leaf and stop juuuust right so as to only peek his head over. Given the surroundings I was in at the time and the feel of the moment, it seemed pure Zen to me.

thanks for the comment!

I love how this presented itself on my screen. Just as I was saying, "oh great, another feather picture", the little guy showed up! His head could be a little sharper, but you still get an 8 for his sweet little shadow toes and the surprise factor.
I've already voted, just commenting now.

This is wonderful! I love the way its little head is popping out, and that you can still see his silhouette. Nice use of the Rule of Thirds too.

Great image...the sort of thing I`d expect to see as a poster.
I like the way the leaves divide the picture and the shallow DOF works very well in contrast with the sharpness of the subject.
This should do very well...good luck.

Fantastic comp, like how you lined his head up against the dark backgraound and you didn't get too close. Spot on DOF as well.

This is so totally Geico...er, sorry, you're probably sick of hearing that by now. Great photo though, you did a great job of getting him to stand out in the sea of leaves. Very nice!

This does not have the overall feeling of peace and serenity that I look for in zen photography.
