Not sure on this one could be a few things but my best guess and not knowing the size I will go with a Whistling Kite. |

To quote my father (a falconer) who I emailed about this photo:
"It’s not native to North America!!!!!
My best guess based on my books is a Little Eagle (Hieraaetus morphnoides) native to Australia. It’s a nice photo"
I had neglected to tell him you lived in Australia, heh

Judi, thats a great shot never the less .. i think this is hawk ... or a marsh harrier ...
i find F11 to produce sharper images with my sigma 70-300 ..
