This was my attempt to depict the “Event Horizon” of a Black Hole.

To make this image I took a piece of cardstock, sprayed it flat black, and let it dry. Next I set a flashlight on the card to mask the black hole. I then sprinkled ordinary table salt on the cardstock to simulate the star field. The final step was to add the spiral arms that represent matter being swallowed up by the black hole. This was done using household white glue.

Then I took several different shots, choose the best one, and processed it in PSP X using crop, levels, and curve adjustments.

This Image didn’t do well, and I really didn’t think it would, but I had fun doing it anyway.

I like the idea, the black hole is a bit too big for me and the white lines are a bit too think.
