Taken near the airport from a little 4 seater plane while landing in Flint, MI. I was in Michigan visiting my brother with the extended family. My brother is a private pilot and took us up in his club plane to fly over Saginaw Bay. It was fantastic! This shot was taken from about 100-200 feet above the city as we came in for approach. I was soooo impressed with the lens and the sharpness and detail I was able to get while in a vibrating small plane. This image is about 1/2 of the original shot.

After: Thanks so much to everyone. My 2nd Honorable Mention in a month. I'm so pleased.

This was my favorite of the challenge - great shot! Congrats on 4th - I know it's not a ribbon, but it's still pretty darn good if you ask me!

Nice shot. I love the lines, and the use of b+w works well here with the bright grey of the concrete highways. A good symbol of progress too. Well done.

Liked this one when I went through the thumbnails - like it even better full size. Very nice capture showing various aspects of "progress" - trains, cars, towns - and even the trees that either remain or have been planted. Excellent capture - nice statement that progress isn't all bad and can in fact be quite lovely (or at least that's how I see it.)

What a crazy interchange! Nice perspective on it too. I want ot look at the roads but I keep being drawn to the trains - I guess you couldnt ask them to move :)

This photo epitomizes "progress" better than every other one I've seen so far. :) The composition is great, and I love that you were able to capture not only such a hectic maze of roadways, but also all of the railways. Amazing photo, perfect title, and great contrast. Great job! :D
