 Lighting Setup:
I actually took this photo in the bathroom using the overhead double bulb heatlamp. (I didn't get to try as many shots as I would have liked due to me dripping in sweat!)

At first the pot being in the photo really bothered me, but the more I looked at it the more I accepted it. I couldn't get a good angle for what I wanted without the pot so I just had to make it as subtle as possible.

What a funky, exotic flower! I didn't even notice the pot, since that bloom is so demanding. This looks like a tough shot to get. Is it still blooming?

Is this one of those special flowers that only blooms once every so many years and then it lasts for one day? I think I read about some kind of flower like that. It definitely looks worth the wait! I might prefer sharper focus on the center and possibly some paper or something behind the flower to avoid the blown highlight issue. The colors are gorgeous.
