This is a clock in my office building. I initially intended to enter one of several shots of the spiral staircases, but everything I did seemed too flat. They made cool patterns, but you couldn't see they were 3-D stairs.

I like this shot for the golden color and the visible polishing strokes on the bottom of the clock. I also like the reflection of the minute hand, and the fact it's not quite pointing to 8.

I think it does well with rule of thirds - the hub is at one point and the hour hand points to the "VIII" at the other point, with the minute hand right along a 1/3 line.

I also hope this will be a different entry from what will probably be a million lines receding into the distance.

Maybe the voters will agree that this is an interesting shot. We'll see. :)

It was a tough call - the noise reduction got rid of a bunch of spots on the clock's face, but also smoothed out the polishing strokes. Ultimately, I think it's a decent compromise.

Very nice shot. A different colored background might give it more "pop" IMHO.
