The pitcher is about 3 inches tall and usually hangs on the wall by my front door. Mom got it for me when she was on vacation somewhere out west. Always wanted to use it in a shot and this seemed right. Taken with the 60mm, one light level and straight on with the subject, diffused through a light tent. One shot is all I took. Processing was very simple - levels to absolute black and pure white, resize, save for web.

Hoped it would do better, but happy with the shot so not complaining. I can always use the pitcher again, the design on the other side is different.

Nice work. Great focus. The flowers really stand out against the BG (great contrast). The composition is very nice; although I'm compelled (as a former floral designer and artist) to suggest that an odd number of flowers would be better. Since the colors of vase and flowers are in different families, I converted this to B/W and cloned out the rose. I think it looks stunning that way, too.

Cool vase. Look forward to seeing you use it again.

Interesting composition, but the lighting is very uneven. The front flower is so bright and the dark one so dark that it feels very unbalanced. Sorry.

pretty good studio shot. I like the vase, but I feel like the large flower (daisy of some sort?) seems to blend together.

the big whie flower on its own would have been so dramatic, i think.
