Challenge: Glass II (with a twist) (Basic Editing III)
Collection: Challenge Outcasts
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Location: My lounge room at home.
Date: Jun 27, 2006
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/20
Galleries: Abstract, Studio
Date Uploaded: Jun 27, 2006

I placed a hand blown glass paperweight sphere, onto some hologram card, and also used the same card at the back as well, plus some mirror tiles.
The colors are fluro/electric, and just look like a "Kaleidoscope", which I have used as the title.

There is some fascinating stuff going on inside the glass, here. But I find the busy periphery too distracting.

If this was an advanced editing challenge, I'd suggest blurring and desaturating the background. For a basic editing challenge like this, though, you're going to have to think of another way of composing the shot; getting the colour inside the glass with creating too distracting a background.

The main subject isn't quite sharp enough for me. I like the colour, but I think this shot is a little too busy for my liking.

Very colorful indeed! I'm amazed you could get a picture with this much color info to 150K.

Very baubley bangley sparkly glassy thingy. Probably the sort of thing that wins.

This image is very harsh in its colors and contrast.

First up - I love the colours; really rich and vibrant. The object in the centre does not stand out sufficiently well to be a distinct focal subject. The net impact is that the whole is just too busy.
