Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Glass II (with a twist) (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 ED
Location: At home
Date: Jun 21, 2006
Aperture: 4.5
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/40
Date Uploaded: Jun 27, 2006

The object is a cubicle of glass, in which an eagle is
engraved using a laser. I bought it as a souvenir in Canada.
I like the reflections and refraction which cause multiple
views at the eagle.

I think this photo would be improved if it was placed on a glass surface with a light under it.

The lighting's a bit flat for my tastes.

Interesting but no oomph. Needs better lighting.

It's hard to really photograph these things well without using those nifty light base things. In my opinion, this isn't a good background for the subject.

I want to see more of the eagle on the top....Interested to find out if just 2 views (instead of trying to get 3) would have worked better.

The anlge really makes this as straight on it would break the literal art rule I would think. the lighting is good. looks focused.

good light. I would have prefered it in a different background, colour would have really set it off.

I think a different surface could have made this more interesting.

A closer shot of the eagle might have suited the title better. There's a pleasing symmetry at work, but the subject is poorly lit - there are a lot of odd reflections at work here, and the paperweight doesn't stand out against its background.
