Challenge: Glass II (with a twist) (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Panasonic DMC-FZ3
Location: Friends house at a BBQ
Date: Jun 25, 2006
Aperture: F3.7
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/200
Date Uploaded: Jun 26, 2006

Taken at a cookout with friends. An old shed sits behind their home that has been rebuilt, only they luckily salvaged the very old windows. I love that wavy glass. The people sitting on the patio wore colorful shirts and made for some cool reflections. The little bits of debris are from an overhead limb of a tree sprinkling pollen. Wish I could have cloned that out, but this is basic editing.

I used auto levels, brightness/contrast, cropped, saved to web.

After challenge comment:
Man, i wish I had entered my first choice. I had it entered and pulled it at the last second. It had none of the elements that everyone was talking about (the fuzzy things blowing around) and the reason I entered the one I dd, was it had better reflections. And wasn't that what this challenge was all about???

I would have given an extra point for a more creative crop - had you have not put the roof in the shot and used the corrugated walls of the building to be a frame to the window frame and centered it it would be a much stronger image. Great capture and one of my faves thus far... Hope it does well. 8

Are those petals? feathers? I think this would be much stronger without them. Otherwise, the reflections are beautiful and look like some sort of pastel painting.

Would be a good photo but all the white specks are very distracting. What are they?

The reds/yellows/greens in the reflection are very nice! Not sure about the sparks or whatever flying about.

Not sure what the particles in the image are, they'er slightly distracting but over all I really like the use of light and colors off the glass.

I love the window, but the roof not so much.

The reflections are great - and the colors - but the yellow specks are very distracting. If the picture were cropped tighter around the window frame and you got rid of the bugs(?) this would be a GREAT photo.

interesting.
maybe if the window wasn't dead center of your picture it would make it pop more.

great unique shot. I think a tighter shot on the window would make it more dynamic. The roof for some reaon seems off from the rest of the pictures.

I love all the diffrent revlections and colors in the panes of glass. I like the framing, centered works for this image.
What are the things floating in front of the window though? They are kind of distracting.

This would be really cool without all those light dots in it. what is that? its amazingly distracting and takes so much away from a shot I'd really like to look at closely and deeply if those things werent obstucting my view. its dissapointing.
