 | I have a less edited version than this, but I kinda liked where this one went. I actually still need to go back and clean up around the bars, as I edited the bars and monkeys separately.
BTW: The cage is very large - it just looks very small here. The monkeys were crowded in the corner to reach for food from some generous rule-breaking guests.

This editing was inspired by some of susi's artistry - a blend of painting and photograph. I don't know her steps, but tried to figure it out as I went along.

PP included: levels/curves, airbrush, tint brush, dodge/burn, contrast, lighting/exposure, color sat, Neat Image. Everything was done to the original image (main layer). The only "split or layered" thing I did was to edit the bars & monkeys separately - but even they were on the main image. No layers.

 160mm zoom, no flash, handheld

		| | I hate this image because they are so caged, but love it for its power to convey just that. A post-modern image if I ever saw one. It reminds me of Medieval Madonna and Child and Pieta artwork. Very painful and awesome at the same time. MMM

		| | As an employie of a zoo, and an animal rights activast i hate this picutre...that is a horrible cage...As a photographor, I love it. The eyes on the lower monkey pop out like crazy and are just amazin. I would be interested in seeing a copy with the top monkey cropped out. |

		| | This one I would like to see the less processed version. Great pose and capture but I think your pp takes away from the composition on this one. |

		| | You have a very nice "painter-ly" image here. The eyes are really stunning. They don't look all that happy being caged... I guess I wouldn't be either. |
