Nice capture of the butterflies and good color. I wish the focus was a little more crisp on the butterflies themselves.

Very nice arrangement of the butterflies in this picture. I also like the smooth bokeh. I would like to see a little more detail in the darker parts of two of the butterflies but overall a nice capture.

Don't know that I've ever heard that one before. ;^) Makes for an interesting image however. Overall I like the composition of this, considering the challenge of a square crop. The angle of the branch works well and having 3 items for a subject generally comes across favorably. The major disappointment with this image is the focal point is off. It appears the the petals directly over the large butterfly is in focus, the rest of the image isn't. Hard to do I know, but a deeper aperture (depending on distance from subject) may have allowed you to get the large butterfly (at a minumum) and possibly all three, in focus.

Anyway...best of luck in the challenge.

Interesting shot. The DOF is a tad too shallow and the back two butterflies get lost in the bokeh effect.

Spectacular. I could go on and list the things you did to perfection, but I won't. I would love to offer some constructive criticism... but I can't.

This is by far the best image I have seen in this competition thus far, and I earnestly believe it will do quite well in the challenge.

Best of luck to you.

reds oversaturate so easily on digital sensors. I'd have liked just a tad more DOF too, with the back butterflies (also supposed to be prominent subjects) in focus. 6

Nice bokeh!!! Hee hee! Seriously though, a lovely picture and all credit to you for managing to get three in the shot! My only criticism is that perhaps the flower petals are a little too sharp? They look slightly unnatural to me. However, I'm only starting out with this lark, so I'm sure you have more clue than me. Voting high for you!

nicely done. i think the border is a bit thin though. it seems lost in comparison to the photo.

Excellent capture! I remember reading that superstition when researching for this challenge and thinking, "that would be an awesome shot, but would be damn near impossible to find..." Not only do I like the DOF and the colors in this shot, but you've also managed to capture a great pose from the closest butterfly. Great job! :)

Don't know this one. But the red apears over saturated, and the butterflies themselves, don't hold a trememdous amount of intrest.

Pretty colors, but slightly out of focus. The lighting is a bit harsh on the petals as well. The bokeh is nice - maybe overall a tad busy for my taste.
