Not bad...it's just that the photo resembles more of a snap shot than anything else.

What I like: Composition is good

What I didn't like: Light seems flat

Nice idea

not much prep went into this shot. better lighting and a greater depth of field. half of shoe in focus and half out. distracting.

Nice work with good details.

Lighting really doesn't work very well here. Not sure why you chose to shoot this in the dark with a flash.

Lighting is tough on this one. Looks like a simple flash. The image also suffers from a very thin DOF. By the time you get to the top of the sneaker, you are already soft in focus.

Looks to me like a snapshot. The lighting isn't especially good. I think maybe a lower angle would have worked better. I think maybe a crack due to a break would have more interest as well rather than one that's just between blocks.

a bit too simple maybe. 5

harsh lighting. cute idea. this shoe looks quite similar to another one in the same challenge for the same superstition actually.

Crack kills. ;)

Definately better lightning and focus!
Also, I would've included the entire shoe

I can see the crack and the stepping on the crack, but it isn't dramatic enough. I was thinking what if doing a low angle shot to catch the steping on the crack and in the backgroung see a 'mother' holding her back in pain.

The central object is a bit out of focus. The image would work better if it had been shot while she (?) was walking thus creating a more dynamic atmosphere. Would be even better to see the foot immediately BEFORE hitting the crack to create more tension: WHEN she steps on the crack, then...

Break your mothers back! Would have looked better in daylight, the light from your flash is too flat.
