| Something about the lighting and/or coloration of this really reminds me of fabric -- needlework or tapestry. It's an interesting effect -- I bet this would look good printed on canvas. |

| good subject for this challenge, tho I find that difficult lighting conditions during this time of day cast unwanted distracting shadows that detract from your subject bench. Good composition |

| Secluded but the bench and surroundings are too well maintained to say desolation. Slso looks like it may be oversharpened. |

| Maybe if this were taken at a different time of day I would get the sense of desolation. A more dramatic point of view would also help. This scene is just peaceful to me---a nice view, dappled shade, and a nice seat. The fact that the bench is empty isn't enough to evoke a sense of desolation in me. |

Sorry, but I am not convinced of Desolation.
