| I was one of the four 9s - for me it was the superbly creamy bokeh (yes, of course it *is* bokeh!) but also it was pretty bold to submit such an abstract shot in this challenge. It really stood out against the other flower shots, mine included. |

| I liked this shot and gave it an 8. I don't think it's unusual that it's been selected as a fav more than most top 10 finishers. Some probably had difficulty in figuring out how to vote for this challenge topic, but still liked your shot as a beautiful visual, challenge or no. |

| Thank you to all who voted this image above average. Personally, I might not have given it a 10, but I think that it deserves a well above average mark. This shows me, yet again, that the most of the DPC crowd cannot perceive an image as a visual object - they need to see a sharp subject, or else the picture is "out of focus". Nothing unexpected, really. |

What do you mean "not bokeh"? There is very little in the shot but bokeh, actually. Translated from Japanese, bokeh means "fuzzy", that is the fuzzy rendition of out of focus elements. Here you see both front and back bokeh. |

Maybe that's because it's... abstract? What do you mean by "too abstract for the challenge", anyways? |

| Wow, so much softness, so rich and colourful. I wonder if a teeny-tiny bit of sharply focused edges would help the blurring really pop out more? Like the positioning of the yellow within the pinks. |
