Post Processing:

- Selective color to bring out some detail in the shadows (brighten whites)

- Shadow/Highlights to bring out the detail in the bright highlights.

- Hue Saturation used to desaturate greens (background was 98% foliage).

- Burn tool was used to blacken the background.

- Hue Saturation used to desaturate the rest of the image.

- Dodge tool was used to brighten the mask as well as highlights in the coat.

- Smart Sharpen

- Blur tool used to soften the rest of the coat mainly his left shoulder pad and arm.

- Gradient Map (black & white) applied mainly to his face to make darker as well as some areas on the coat where the blacks weren't black enough.

- Curves used to brighten the highlights just a bit. A 50% opacity brush was used to selectively apply the effects to the darker parts of the coat.

EXCELLENT!!! The overall tone is velvety smooth. I like all of the midtone ranges in this shot, with that punch of vivid white on the eye mask. Your use of negative space is just enough to really work without being overdone. You're good.
