Just noticed I didnt fillout my description on this one.

yes another Kermit shot. I had wanted to do this setup for envirnmental portrait but found something else instead. Aimee and I suffered large attacks of mosquitoes in the different ponds that I used. We were out of town for this shot and the computer I had access to had a really poor monitor so I didn't really know what I had til I got home. I really wished this was an advanced editing - there was more I wanted to do with this shot.

This should be it though - no more Kermit shots unless a Muppet challenge comes up. He served me well. Thank you everyone.

Hmm didn't know kermit eats fish, *lol*.
A very nice picture absolutely green! Nice and sunny!

As soon as I saw this topic I thought to myself, the Kermit pictures will be all over this one. I was out of town I didn't vote, so I don't know if there were others. It meets the challenge, but kermit (like yellow ducks and woodies) is pretty predictable. That said, the idea is pretty clever and you have executed it well. The technical aspect is fine. I would have scored this a 5 or 6. I suspect Kermit's star power helped with the ratings because 28 scores at 9 or 10 seems high to me based purely on photographic merits (IMHO).

Since my own scores are pretty mediocre, maybe I'll incorporate Kermit, duckie and woodie in my next picture to see if it makes a difference. ;-)

Composition
I like the placement of kermit in the frame, but maybe you could have found a simpler, less busy composition/pov to give it that extra something.

Technical stuff (exposure, dof, lighting etc…)
Seems a tad flat, as though available lighting was poor.

Meeting the challenge
Well duh :P

Other
Would prefer if the "fishing line" was taut, rather than floating in the water.

My personal opinion
Whilst you have some great shots of Kermit, it is quite worrying that half of your top 6 entries (I have 6 thumbs to view) feature him lol.
Great score anyway, well done

Trading post...
Great score! This is a cool picture. BTW- I read your post on retiring Kermit. I think he might still have some life left in him, you never know. Really you have a great imagination (something I seem to be lacking lately). Technically this is an excellent shot as well.

[[trading post]]

as an image this is pretty well done, but I find it rather uninteresting, maby because Kermit never found his fame in Iceland so we have no emotions when we see him, he's just another stuffed sock to us ;)

composition, color and focus all seem very good, and I think that has a lot to do with the high score you got.

I would have liked this better if Kermit had been in tan grass instead of so much green. He's not hard to find, but some color contrast would have really made him "pop".

Love the Kermits :)

I "LOVE" Kermit, so please don't retire him yet, as I am sure you will come up with some excellent more ideas for him, re challenges.....

Trading Post comment

Composition/subject - I didn't vote in this challenge and truthfully never got a chance to even look through the entries, but I suspected you might have used Kermit... I really like Kermit so I'm down with the subject choice. :-) Good environment in which to stick Kermie. Only nit on the composition is lay of the fishing line - I'd have preferred it straight out to the point where the float is.

Technical - Good exposure, good color, good contrast. All good.

Meets challenge - Yep

My opinion - Nice use of a good prop. As I mentioned, the only thing I don't like is the way the fishing line is angled. (So are 6s getting boring now?) Heh - just noticed that Kermie is in 3 of your top 6!

Very good idea, one of the best ideas I have seen yet. Though for me it could of done much better, with a cleaner, much more simpler environment.
