Good concept... champagne to celebrate buying or selling a house... but the technical implementation leaves much to be desired. Almost looks like the picture sufferes from camera movement during the exposure. The shadow of the bottle is distracting. The bottle needs to be in tack sharp focus to work. An idea worth considering would have been to have the bottl open with two champaigne glass filled nearby being held by two hands each coming in from a different side.

Not a bad image overall but if just the bottle was more in focus. Some glasses would've been nice too :)

First time I vote in a challenge. No special comments about this picture, except I find it a bit out of focus?

Seems a little soft and small.

Great idea....I would like to see the image larger though.

I love the title. so many implications. I think the general public will find the focus of the shot, the crop and lots of other things terribly wrong with this shot. But i think it works, and I like the impressionist blur in the back.

It seems a bit OOF.

Congrats on the new home :o) The picture suffers however, primarily from a lack of sharp focus, and also for being smaller than necessary.

The image is a little small and looks out of focus. You might have done something with the actual sparkling wine. Popped the cork and caught the 'bubbling over' effect, added a glass (yes, I know, one 'thing' but still), just to add some extra interest. But a nice idea.

Good idea, well composed. Too bad no part of the image is in focus.

The focus is too soft on the bottle.

I Like the angle and the composition of this photo. Its pretty soft though--throughout the whole photo. Otherwise generally good overall photo.

This entry could have been sized larger, it's awfully small.

Very nice :) Little focusing, and maybe a little large image would be better :)

Meets the challenge but your photo is a little small and it doesn't appear to be quite in focus.

I like your use of DOF here. The image is way to small though, and the subject is not in full focus. Did you use a tripod? I think in this image it is very important for us to be able to see the bottle clearly.

Just a pointer for getting your score up: There are some instructions on how to size the photo in the tutorials section under the "learn" tab, that really helped me out. I believe the tut. is called "preparing your image for dpc" Good luck :-)

oh i get it .. but the picture is out of focus .. and small .. always try to maximise the size of the shot (longest side 640) to maximise the impact created.

Out of focus and too small to view properly. Please read the tutorial on how to resize image for submitting to DPC.
