Really boring subject, I had a way better picture, but I used photoshop merging, and found out that it wasn't allowed by the rules at the very last moment...

I agree it's too dark... But I can hardly do otherwise : I have no manual shutter control, if I increase the light, I loose the motion blur, and if I increase the luminosity afterwards, I loose the contrast. So I had to make a choice :) Thank you for all your comments !

I think this image would be more exciting with more noticable highlights on the record -- a little more light or maybe a longer exposure.

Very nice - just the right exposure so that the label is blurred by recognisable

Just a little more light would of made this better.

need more light

Love it! love the concept, the message, and the photo. I like how the reflected light at left balances with the tone arm and anchors to the frame. I notice that you got motion in the label, but also caught the label at an upright position. How'd you do that?

... but just barely... nice concept... pleasingly sentimental... good motion... 6 sjgleah

I wonder how many youngsters know what this is :)
Wonderful idea and great colors. I think there's too much black at the bottom though: if everything was shifted a little more downwards, the photo would be more balanced.

Great idea! Wonderful execution. I like the blurred motion of the label. What's playing? 8 Swash

Hehehehehe. The detail on the left side of the picture is good. I think I would like to see more on the right, though. I like the bright yellow against the darks. karmat

Love the colours, the yellow is leaping out at you. Good title as well.

Technicals all look good to me. Composition by the book. Wow factor - Wow people still use these things.

I like the idea, but I think I would have liked more definition and light on the surface of the record. The needle, stylus, and the record surface would have had a lot more impact I think if they had been more defined in the shot.

clever title (and true). I like the way the photo shows motion, and the composition is niceley done. The reflection on the record adds a lot.

ahhhhhh the good ol' days
07/15/2002 04:28:00 PM
Nice idea and composition. I think a bit more light on the record would have helped. It looks like the needle is just floating in the air.

Fun action shot with great color. Good job. Kee

This has great potential. I would have polished up the metal on the arm and used a stronger light for reflection. May have cropped a tad wider on the top and left. 7 Lisa

Great use of blur/motion in a photograph.
07/15/2002 06:11:00 AM
Clever.

Hmm, I like your idea, but I think there needed to be more light on it. The arm of the record player blends in with the record itself too much. I like how you have some shine to the bottom-left, but a little more would have given you a few more points from me. 4
