Challenge: Still Life II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Tamron AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 LD Aspherical IF Super II for Canon
Location: Living room
Date: May 12, 2006
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 400
Shutter: 4.5 sec
Galleries: Still Life, Food and Drink
Date Uploaded: May 16, 2006

Shot by a window in late evening, so the longer shutter speed was needed and desired for a soft light. Noticed afterward that the ISO was still set to 400! Adjusted RAW file in RSE, and in Photoshop, adjusted curves, did USM, cropped, bumped saturation, resized, and saved for Web.

I like the arrangement and the color choices. I would like it better if the lighting were from a different angle; the reflection of the window and the dark shadow on the right of the teapot are distracting.

Nice composition. I know it is hard not to have a reflection or glare, but it is a little distracting to me.

A stronger vertical component might improve this composition. What a lovely teapot! Nice color, texture combination and lighting. 6

Thank you for the invitation. Teapot top might have been better lit. Would that be a genuine Chinese teapot? or one made in Japan? The typical Yixing teapot is unglazed red clay...
