Not the 'teacher', I am a teacher's assistant or sorts. The kids get a kick out of my hair. I'm like a science project. "what color IS that?" and "name the newly discovered color". lol They love me.

great shot; nice transfer from light to dark; It complements the black lipstick and dog collar. There is also nice full range of black to white.
and oh yeah; from looking at your self portraits, that is your better side.

About the lighting, I'm afraid it wasn't as impressive as some of you thought. Totally dark room, with, get this...FLASH! Ewww, I know.

I just love this one! Everything, eyes, hair, nose and its shadow, those lips! Technically perfect! It could go in a book on how to make a portrait.

K i'm finally back for the real comment. what i was going to say was that I thought your editing has improved over the years. I recognized you right away, but you have made an interesting metamorphosis since back in the early days when your only comment about your SPs was that they made your nose look big. :)
one of the things i'm beginning to dig about portrait photography that seems to have taken me forever to figure out, is that you get the chance to become someone you're not - you can tell a story via the image, and there's no need to back it up or validate it. (if I'd been paying attention earlier I could have learned this looking at the works of people like Alecia, Kiwi, and Nasti...but i'm not all that perceptive it seems). So even though the setup of this is very similar to the last SP challenge with your high-key (then) new red hair, the two shots have very distinct looks, and that my dear is cool.
so good on ya. keep working on the processing...it'll come over time.

| Wow! Stunning model ;) I love the darkness of this shot. I think the soft pale and smooth skin tones work very well in contrast to your makeup and outfit. I like the hair falling over one eye, and that you have catchlights in both eyes. I think the crop works well because it has a closeup and personal feel. Excellent job. |
