Sadly put to sleep yesterday 10-09-06

Her mother was a working dog on a farm in Cornwall.

Sorry to hear she passed... dogs sometimes have more of our heart than we realize. Hopefully she's up playing around with my my dog Fang.

Hi Mark,
Great picture. I also have a border collie. He is 13. I know how exactly how you feel about your senior citizen. They are great dogs.

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Its a dog .. but one of a very select few that I don't really mind.

Composition:
Well done, I think that slightly more on the left may have put the dog on true thirds .. but is works ... the leading lines through the landscape and the sky add.

Subject:
Meets the challenge, but has challenged peoples thinking.

Technical (Colour and light):
Well done .. natural and lovely. Hard to tell if this is selective desat or not .. and that I like.

To grow its vote?:
Put in a person . .you know that is what people thought should be there.

Summary:
Great .. nice challenge to the way of thinking .. and well thought through. Keep it up.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

This image is my highest rated in the category of "no people". I did not feel strongly about the human vs non for this challenge. This is a beautiful portrait of a dog and his/her incredible environment. Nice processing. 9

the environment tells me the dog is dead because she held so still for the IR exposure...

I like this - it's slightly bizarre having the greens desaturated and yet the colour in the sky, but it works for me. And the dog is an adorable subject.
