Once again, the old Canada Malting plant in St-Henri, Montreal. (some might recognize the old tile silos on the left from my Perspective entry)It has been abandonned for many years, but many still call it home, but mostly for grafiti and squating when you're down and out.

The area has been developing like crazy. Condos everywhere. It's only a matter of time before this place will be filled with yuppies.

Great subject and very good choice to go black and white, and to keep the tone pretty harsh rather than too soft a sepia. That said composition isn't strong for me and I would be interested to see other images from the frame if you took any which focused in on different areas or were taken from different viewpoints.

One of the best pics so far and I love the graffiti [dunno how it's spelt lol]. However, I would have liked to see you consentrate a one area of this scene at a time as it is too distracting at the mo. Looking now, I can see that 'tunnel'. I would have personally got a snap at the edge of that tunnel with all those brilliant shadows and graffiti within.

However, well done. Good try =)

Nice balance! I think the sepia works well and I like the way you've framed this, too. You've managed to organize the mess before you. 9

Your picture definately show abandonment but the graffiti tells me it is visited frequently. This in it'self removes it from the desolation scene for me. 4

Good picture. May be a smaller frame could work even better

Very good shot as well as the place. I think you should left the natural colors though.

I would like to see this in color too. It does look very desolate.

Really captures desolation well. Good use of color and lighting. There isn't anything I can think of that I'd change.

Great entry for this week. Your subject is well composed and it has one of the most important qualities for this assignment for my voting - depth. I think desolation should give the viewer a sense of being surrounded by the desolate feeling and you've done a good job with this.

Wow, what a strong picture! That's what I mean by desolation. It's my favourite, although it is hard to see the real world. Congrats.

good, there is something missing that I can't put into words (so I'm not much help here), but the tone (both colour and emotion) is good, composition is good, lighting is good, etc. Nothing bad to say, just something is missing.

wow.. nice photo.. its the 2nd photo that gives me the "desolation" message.. technically i love the sepia tone, nice contrast.. if i could recommend something.. may be it would be to add a indirect subject on the floor.. an used object..something that reflects the youth and society perdition, etc..

Definitely not for the faint hearted. Must have been scary to take this one. Would have had more of the wow impact if the image were sharper.
