Yeah, borders are a no no. I actually liked this border, for what it's worth, as it complements the picture's composition, but you could call it gilding the lily.
Like the picture, like the colour(s), like the Angel of the North.

For me as observer, the white line symbolizes the boundary of the physical world. Thought of that way, everything in the image is a projection out of the same thing, which transcends the limits of the physical.
IMHO, the inner border is an integral part of the image.

Why the white border? Still appreciate this photo.

One of the best of this subject I've seen.

Nice colors, but I think that the internal border is perhaps too big

That inline is destroying the bottom of the picture for me... I can't imagine why you did it this way.

Would have given it a 10 if that white border wasn't there.

Amazing, what is this???? IMHO would be better without the man on the bicycle. There's also some kind od radial red/green noise in the background. Otherwise I think it's perfect. I like the crop.

great light; I would opt out of the border; nice perspective.

very nice, but the border is very distracting.
Great colors and the 2 people (are they taking pictures too?) and the biker are a nice touch.

I like this more the longer I look at it. I had never heard of the Angel of the North so I looked it up. Thanks for the picture and the education. 7.

I would love to see this statue in person, I've seen many photos of it. I like the composition and your fame is nice too. Only thing I don't like is the person on the bike. The 2 people in front seem to be worshipping it (although they are probably just taking pictures of it). Well done.

Wow! This is a great place to be in! Lovely colors and the silhouettes work well!

Well captured. Do not like the white line border though.

Massive, but the backround has some checking.

Not strictly holy, just Britain's largest sculpture. The composition here is good and I particularly like the silhouetted figures looking at the sculpture - 'specially the man on the bike! But the frame does it no justice at all - in fact it detracts strongly from my enjoyment of this shot.

Let me know how many comments you get about an internal border. I got hammered the one and only time I tried one. I do like the gradient of the sky and muted brown hue. 7

very cool! bad point is that there are some horrid artifacts around the people below! overprocessed? (7)

The border takes away from this amazing shot. Also, the position of the visitors hands tells that they're also taking a photo which ruins the mood of the photo.

MASSIVE...great that you had the people there to give perspective

The image is great although the border (in my opinion) does nothing to add to the picture and would probably be better left out. The simplicity of colour and shape really make the picture easy to look at and the people give the statue a lovely sense of scale.

Beautiful silhouettes composition is amazing. Not real sure of the border but nothing to knock points off for. I love this!

If you hadn't described it as an angel in the title, I wouldn't have been able to tell what it was.
