This is Berglind Veigarsdottir, some of you might know her as the girl on the far right in my Triptych entry. This photo was not taken with this challenge in mind, this is one of the few times I take a shot I took this week and made it fit the challenge, mainly through the title.

Lit with a single 500w bowens esprit head with a 75° softlite reflector. Taken pretty late, about half an hour after sunset, fortunately it´s bright outside for a bit longer than that this time of the year. My wife Henný was the makeup artist/stylist and a friend of Berglind was the hairstylist, don´t remember her name.

For the PP work I increased the contrast and reduced saturation, curves, shadow/highlights and sharpened after resizing, really wish I could darken and lighten some parts of the photo but alas, this challenge is basic editing so this will have to do...

This should have placed much higher. I can only imagine that 'title trolls' knocked the score down.

Hilarious! If I had seen this during the challenge it would have been a 10...

I wish there were a deck of cards or something to cue in with the title though...

The odd angle of the sofa chair is perfect.

Beatiful pic.

So clever. I had this pegged for a higher placement. I'd given it a 9.

Reminds me off a picture I took for the "Faceless" challange:

Outside strobeing always works well on dpc :) The rock in front of the chair... not sure about that. Not sure if that was planed or not. The only thing i would have done different is to have the space between the model and tha chair shorter. It will place highly for sure. Good luck.

Extreme hairdrying lol! The chair is very good, without that it wouldn't have the smae impact.

This look's like Arnit's work, but I could be wrong :) Still a 10 from me.

Not familiar with the saying but really like the photo. Went and looked it up at //www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/260000.html and Unintelligence wasn't what came to mind but anyway...
One of my top5 picks for this challenge, even though I dont get the exact pairing with the title and image. That's how much I like it. Hope it does well for you :)

One of my favorites in this challenge. You have captured this perfectly - with the correct amount of light on the model and the background. This reminds me of a some photos I saw a few years ago with people ironing clothes in a rural setting like this. Nicely done.

Pottþétt frá Íslandi. Hefði viljað færa stólin meira þannig að hann væri ekki falin þarna á neðra horninu, sem sagt sjá hann allan. Annars líkar mér svona myndatökureins og þú getur séð í nýjustu þáttökunni minni hérna á DPC.
Gangi þér vel.

A bizarre image, but I like it. Very nicely exposed for the subject(s).

Color/exposure/contrast: 2/2 perfect
Focus/sharpness/DOF: 2/2 perfect
Idea/creativity: 2/2 very creative
Theme: 0/2 the theme-title-picture are totally disconected. terrible.
Framing/appeal: 1.5/2 nice picture but I just can't get the chair and can't connect the hair drying with the background

Can't say this would have been the first image that came to my mind with this saying but it is fascinating. Almost has a fashion feel to it.

I'm going to let you off on the title and give you the 9 the image deserves anyway :-) If I was nitpicking I'd say the chair could be more upright. Iceland by any chance?

A really inventive take on this challenge. There are a number of sayings that could fit this photo (elevator doesn't go to the top, a quart shy of a gallon, etc.) but it all works.

I might have liked one more item to push the incongruity of this woman's life. The shot is great, I love the moodiness of the lighting, her dress and the DOF. 8
