Maybe a little more contrast and a tighter crop would have made this better.

The colours in this are a little dull. Perhaps the contrast should be tweaked?

Nice use of colors. The image is made more powerful by its simplicity.

Good capture of "facial expression" and the emotional tenseness of the cat. With regard to composition, I think maybe a tighter crop on the left and top of the frame. With regard to exposure, image looks a bit flat and lacks contrast and sharpness. This really isn't the most visually interesting background/foreground. Overall, this has more of a "snapshot" feel than I would expect to find in a Free Study challenge.

Very nice. Even the wood has sort of a sheen look to it that matches that of the cat's coat. Also, nice job with the focus. I know how hard it can be to focus on a black cat like that.
