Jello in the glass, bullseye on computer monitor, glass platform and steel shot in foreground. Calibrated custom white balance for monitor color temperature. I showed it to my husband and he said, "Oooh, that's pretty. It doesn't make any sense, but it's pretty..." Oh, well, I had fun doing it. Levels adjustment, slight crop and cloned out distracting spots in jello and on glass. I did one with the glass upside down, too, but that made even less sense, so I stuck with this. :)

Thanks to all who liked this. Yes, as stated in the notes, it was gelatin in the glass. The balls were there to sort of make people take a second look, so that they knew the whole setup wasn't just shot at a tilt, because the balls would have rolled off. :) Anyway, it was fun to do!

Good work. Even though its one of "those glass shots", as i've commented on all the others, it's still unique and "pretty" as your husband said.

You don't hear people saying "oh, its one of those people shots again.."

I really like this image...how'd you do that with the "wine"...is that jello?

Returning for comment. Super strong lines and bold colors really make this pop off the screen. The liquid sloshing to the right really gives this shot lots of visual interest. I do see a teensy bit of a break in the black circle within the wine glass reflection which makes me wonder about cloning, but it didn't affect the score because I had to study the image to find it and I'm not positive it's a PP mistake. Very nice job!

IMO this type of photography is one of the hardest. To get everything right must be a big challenge. It would seem to me that flaws are magnified when such precision is required. You have done a nice job here. The design and colour choice IMO works great. There seems to be a few line which are not as crisp as they could be but that could possibly be my monitor or just my eyes. Well done.

Nice touch with the round things on the table. Makes you wonder how you tilted the glass...Jello perhaps?

a good image.
the only negative parts are that I think the foreground is too dark, it would have been nice to see more of the balls.
and (very nit picky) is that the centre white circle is distorted a little too much by the refraction in the red liquid-which I'm guessing is frozen?

Well done, would love to know the secret to the shot (I'm guessing the liquid in the glass is gelatin that went solid while the glass was at a different angle).

Really like this one. I like the combination of red, black and white. Would have liked it more without these little balls (?).

Ok...so how did you pull off the diagonal liquid. Are the BBs and the glass all glued down? None the less, it's very cool.

Technically good, but the stemmed glass as subject has become a rather tiresome DPC cliche.

Clever idea to tip your setup so the wine is at an angle. I think it would be more powerful without the balls at the bottom. The image would have a stronger graphic impact.

Lovely shot, the red throws a nice contrast in the mix. I have ideas about how this was accomplished, looking forward to seeing the notes.
