Photo Taken of my Son and his girlfriend prior to Prom Night. Taken outside with no special lighting or prep. I did adjust the temp to 4602 just to make it a little warmer.

He is wearing a Zoot Suit. What ever happened to wearing a TUX to the Prom. Am I getting Old, or what?

I really appreciate all the advice and comments. I am trying to learn and the best way to do that is with your assistance and help.

It might have been nicer to take the shot from a closer range.. don't think there is need for us to see so much of the surroundings... but that's just my opinion :)

Like the concept, but would have liked the background to be cleaner (no signs, no birdhouse, no top of lamp in forground)).

It's just me, or the photo is a bit oversharpened?

you need to crop a lot of stuff out of that picture, and not use a flash when it's that bright out.

a tighter crop would have worked well here. I don't think the blue signs add much to the picture.

This looks oversharpened or something and background is not terribly flattering.

Nice thought. Your models are only marginally unhappy to be photographed. Really make this picture pop by cutting out most of the background and bring the camera down about a foot, so it just looks slightly up to their faces.

Very pretty. I'd like to see a tighter crop. The rest doesn't add anything to your shot IMHO. Also seems a little over sharpened.

As a guy who has been known to cut a rug here and there and has his own set of vintage 1950's saddle shoes, I'm digging the style here, but photographically, it's got some issues.

Direct flash caused strong shadowing. The BG is somewhat dismal (big white sheets are usually preferred over security signs and birdhouses). The WB is wrong, causing a blue cast (which has done some really bad things to happen throughout the picture, but especially in the flesh tones.... this might also have been the fault of auto levels? I find that it doesn't like skin tones much) and it appears oversharpened, particularly in the grass and the pinstripes in our hep cat's zoot.

It seems swing is still hanging on.

Keep swingin' and keep shootin'!

Definitely fits the challenge :) A tighter crop would get rid of many of the distractions, and the lighting is rather harsh.

flash is too strong, photo looks over exposed....also the lines on the suite do not look good once shrank. You should try using a de-interlace...I give it a 2
