 Happened to pass a riding competition on my way to shooting for another challenge. Glad I stopped- these kids were so self-assured and confident (you can tell by this look). I was not going to enter this competition but liked the photo so much I had to make it work somewhere. Name and City both are ficticious- just liked how it worked for a headline.

Love the clear focus. and, if I look at it just right it almost looks like the rider is looking in the direction of the camera. It's little details like that, ones that you might not see at first, that give a photo extra character. :) Neat capture.

Great tonal range at this time of day (sun overhead and bright). Option: Given she is the focus, I would have prefered not to crop her foot and leave more space in front rather than behind.

Wonderful shot, but why? b&W in 2006 for photojournalism. Not beoing used much these days.
