Wow, Bea, this is just perfect! I missed it before somehow. You're so good!

This is way better than a 5.6 image. The colors are great and I really like the shallow DOF.

Not clear enough for me.

I like this very much, great colors and outstanding DOF. The whole image very impressive. Hope it will do well. 9.

Despite the oof effect, or perhaps because of it, I rather like this. It should be sharper, but the composition is good and the slightly muted blue and orange colours are lovely.

Very nice!

not a fan of the lack of focus

A deeper DOF would have made this image even better, but I understand the f stop used.

could have used a little more focus.

I like the abstract feeling of this shot. It reminds me of just waking up. Solid 7.

I love the very shallow DOF here. I know OOF foreground elements don't tend to score well on DPC, but I think it adds to your entry.

This is just spectacular! Please take this as a great compliment as I think this shot can pass as Ursula's. The great DOF control is phenomenal. 10

Lovely use of an extremely thin DOF. I find the blue and green to compete a bit but still blue winning out on getting more of my attention.

Get the feeling the lack of much focus is gonna turn people off on this one. The bokeh is great and I can appreciate the expressionist quality here. I'm not a big fan of the crop. 6

I like this the extreme dof is a plus

I like it, I hope you don't get slammed for the focus (like mine did!) 7

The very shallow DOF means bokeh which to me removes the definition and contrast of the two colors, as interesting as the shot may be. Quite unique though, I must say, even if I'm still unsure of what exactly it is supposed to be.

I really the like DOF. I'm sure some here don't, but it really works for this photo!

Love the colores but DOF did not work for me....

I really like this. It is an unusual take on a flower, and that sets it apart from the rest of the flowers. The frame is a bit thick, though. Alright, alright, I'm giving ya a 10. Good luck.

Love this! I've been really into this sort of shot lately. I almost wonder if I'd like the tips of the flower just a bit softer but very cool overall.

Interesting choice of depth of field. Still a great shot, maybe just a little more DOF. Great shot though.

Intesting choice with the focus, but i'm not sure it works

Focus is too misplaced and shallow for my taste.
04/26/2006 03:12:04 PM
Love the DOF/blur here. Very abstract with strong coloring.

I dont know... I think the colors are ok, but it is so much out of focus....

5 - Like the concept. Main detractors in my opinion are the frame (for this size especially) and the very shallow depth of field, which may well have been intentional - just like to have seen a little more detail. Perhaps a slight variation in the composition too. Perhaps a more horizontal framing, not sure. Bokeh is nice.

I love this...I hope the other voters do as well, because from experience, they don't seem to like out of focus shots...this is an excellent abstract with amazing bokeh...I hope you do really well 9
