Yes, I know I will take a hit for submitting a cat pic. I have been forewarned.

I reshot the challenge theme 4 different ways avoiding the obvious pet through the window shot, but I came back to my original concept which back to back with the other pix I took this week was the strongest and the best thing I think I shot for the challenge.

Besides It was fun chasing my cats all around the house today, and isn't "have fun" one of the instructions.

Her name is Scarlet, and she is beautiful.

I feel bad about keeping her indoors. Especially when I look at a pic of her like this longing for a romp among the tall grass, trees, butterflies, ticks, fleas, bears, skunks.....you get my the drift. I know she'd like to enjoy the woods and all the world beyond the window, and would love to hunt the field mice and birds she watches with such fascination. Maybe it is cruel to keep a would be wild creature indoors all the time and deny her her instinct to hunt, but My instinct to protect my loved one is stronger, and I'm the boss

"What ARE you doing with that camera?" Hehe. Great cat expression. I wish the screen's impact on the photo could be minimized a bit - it's distracting - but I suspect you already attempted to do that (and removing the screen would probably have removed the "inside" element, judging from that expression! :).

The brighter shades on the pillow and the edge of the cage is distracting. So perhaps a tighter crop into the cat's face with it's briliant eyes may improve this image. Do not feel you need to show it is inside the cage w/ the white bar on the right. The squares of the window displays it brilliantly!

This cat looks loved which warms my heart. I love the bed on the perch! Exceptional photo too. It really evokes thought. The cat is locked on to something in the yard! Great clarity, interest, etc.

While I'm no cat lover, this has a lot of merit. The downside for me is the somewhat cluttered background. Just a thought... Had you considered cropping the right side closer? I looked at it cropped to the edge of the 'bed' the cat is on and to my eye it improved the photo quite a bit...

But that's just me :)

Nice shot. I tried something like this but it didn't work out as well. Good luck.

Just a quick thought, may have liked it a little better had the (door frame on) right been cropped out, I think could still tell screen from little lines and title. I like the cat expression and stand though.
