Thanks to my not-so-patient, but ever so lovable, model, Julien.
I only had about 10 minutes to make a shot work, since Julien really wanted to get back to playing Lego.
Shot and PPed in RAW, taking down the saturation a bit and upping the blue. Then a bit of gaussian blur to minimise the reflections, and yada yada...

Hello from the Critique Club!

My first impression is quite positive. The blue, the facial expression, the water on the window all are powerful elements that work well together to bring out the emotion of a rainy day.

I very much like the model's pose. He has that somewhat sad but very bored look which is perfect for this shot. The one thing that bothers me is that the bottom of his face is obstructed by the window frame. Having him rest on something that would make him even with the top of the window frame would help bring more of his expression into view.

The blue tint of this picture was a great idea. It adds to the sense of a cloud covered sky and gives it that slightly depressing feeling.

Well done!

-Bill

I like the simplicity of this photo and the authentic expression of the boy (nothing worse than a rainy day at that age). The blue tones go well with the theme, too.
