This was done in studio. I took a small branch of leaves from a tree down the street and placed then off the edge of small vase on top of a pile of books. The top book had a piece of aluminum foil, non glossy side up, on top from another project. I think that helped to light the drop. Used two clamp lamps each with a 100w halogen bulb at the top of the shooting area pointing back to a bouquet of pink tulips in front of a black velvet backdrop in the background.

As in my other drop refraction endeavors, the drop provided the challenge of the shoot. I would get a decent drop and then more water drain on to it and plop! And on and on. Ya get smart after a while sometimes and I finally lessened the amount of water sprayed on the leaves and let the draining water form the drop gradually which seemed to do the trick. I was able to get several shots of the drop in this image because it managed to stay on the leaf for a good five minutes. Shot hand held but with both elbows on the shooting area the camera was relatively steady. Macro mode with a 10x close up filter on the camera.

Post: Thank goodness we could spot edit!!!!
Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Sharpen. Crop. Eradicated many hot areas from the lights on the drops and on the leaves. I left some but at a smaller size. The composition of this is not what I would have liked it to be so I tried to get rid of anything that might detract from the drop. Left the background as is and muted a bright spot on the stem.

Very nice reflection in the water drop, but it is almost lost in all that is going on in this photo.

Love the reflection in the drop - it makes this image so much more than it would be otherwise.

I was going to say, this is pretty bad, but then I saw the water drop. Very nicely done.
