I only used contrast and cleaned up the backdrop. I didn't want to play with it too much, I think it's pretty as is.

This looks like something that should be a Japanese painting :) Very nice simple lines.

I agree with your assessment of your photo. These are excellent Dogwood Tree blooms.

They are great object lessons to explain the resurrection of Jesus in the spring of every year. Always four petals "scarred" with wounds to depict the four wounds Jesus endured in His two hands as well as His head & His feet. Then there's the cluster at the "heart" to symbolize the new life that came from His heart/Eternal Transaction.

Excellently displayed! :)

This image has great potential. The composition IMO is great. I really like the solid black background and I think the flowers are placed just right. One of the things that will hurt you is that it looks as if you have used a direct flash on your subject causing it to be too bright. A flash that you can bounce off of a ceiling or if you were outside try and get the sunlight to work in your favor. The other thing would be that it seems the focus is off just a tad. It seems to me that the focus is on the branch and not the flowers. I hope this helps.

Color & composition is very good, I would have liked clearer focus (or just a bit more sharpening) Like this.

A little sharper focus would do the trick.

Good job eliminating the potentially distracting background.
