::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
This just drags real emotion ... it is one of those shots it appears, that one either loves or hates. As shown by the scoring you have both of those extremes in excess.
Composition:
I really like the use of the crop to play the rule of thirds ... The way that the memorial just plays those lines is great.
Subject:
meets the challenge but some may think it doesn't because the person is hard to make out ...
Technical (Colour and light):
I love this ... you have no issues to me here.
To grow its vote?:
Well you certainly challenged the voters here ... take a safe shot and you will get a higher score .. .but I think sticking outside the small box suits you fine.
Summary:
Wondeful shot .. .for a second challenge entry this tells me you are defiantely on the rise here.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
Cheers

I love this image. I think it meets the challenge well and gives off a lot of atmosphere. I love the creepy cross! I think you could have used just a tad more contrast here, you would have been able to maintain the foggy feeling but make it a little easier to see what is happening. Gets a 10 from me. |

TOO foggy, it confuses the image. |

Reminds me of a high key take on Micheal Kenna's nightwalk/nightwork series. Very nice. |

beautiful - even with minimal details this tells a story. shame about the vignetting |

Cool shot. The effect of the mist is just a bit too much, but apart from that a pretty cool scene that is nicely portrayed. 7

Love the concept, wished there was more to the photograph. I could tell it "tells a story"... |

I really like this idea for a picture but i would have bumped the contrast up a lot to cut through the fog more. |

I find it pretty arty... though i would chose bigger size for more effect. |

It's different and that is what caught my attention. The lady is just perfect. The umbrella just in the right place to make this picture excellent. Great job and good luck. In the top 5 for me. |

I don't usually like comments or give them, but since candids are near and dear to my heart, I have decided to comment on every photo in this challenge.
Nice feel, but a bit too easy. I see no emotion or even much of a story, but the overall feel is ok for a foggy day with the lady and umbrella. I don't think its worthy of more than a 5 vote though. |
