It was a busy week so instead of doing nothing I decided I have a 7 year old boy....Kevin in Home Alone was 7 maybe we could do the after shave scene from the movie...and yes he did scream just like Kevin when I told him what to do! Didn't notice the kool aide face in time to do something about it but hey that the charm of a 7 year old.

I agree with excellent composition but odd color. But then I'm usually lousy at fixing color myself. Definitely captured the "flavor" of the movie.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Hi OneSweetSin, I'd guessed this was yours during voting... I thought I'd seen this little boy in your photos before :-)

First off, it definitely fits the challenge. Very cute. I loved home alone! It's amazing to me that McCaulley Culkin is already grown and married, we're similar ages! Anyway, good job choosing your subject for the photo.

The lighting here leaves a lot to be desired.. it is very flat and straightforward, and doesn't really do a lot for the photo. He looks like he has a bluish tint to him, I know that part of it is from the koolaid (?) but I'm sure he didn't get it on his forehead. Hehehe...

I like your composition... filling the frame was nicely done here and it helped with no distractions surrounding the kid.

This looks quite a bit like a snapshot, but it's not a big deal... I would try and work on getting better lighting for sure. Play around with lighting... doing this outdoors without a flash might have been a good thing.

Good luck in the future!

This isn't quite as sharp as it should be. I dont' really buy the expression either, its the same general idea, but doesn't quite have the same effect. Maybe a different kid would've yielded a more favorable result. Good luck anyway!

you caught the expression of McCulley very well..focus is good and using the whole frame adds to the composition.

Here's some drama! I like the expression The lighting is a bit harsh here, and colors nonsaturated, as I find in some of your other shots. I'm not sure what camera you have, but I would really experiment with light and slightly different colors and qualities and directions of light and rely less on your flash. It tends to wash things out and give a harsh feel to things. Your composition is really nice here, and the point of view is just right, but your lighting upstages most of this wonderful work.

Issac -- or Kris, as the case may be ;) -- seems to have a bit of a purplish tint to him...

on-camera flash = blue cast and not particularly 'artful' lighting.

so simple and yet so overlooked for this challenge, nicely done

A bit underexposed -- all detail is lost in the eyes, face has weird black spots. Looks kinda blurry too. I think I woulda taken a wider shot for this, include a bathroom sink, shaving cream, etc...

Not a happening event. Sorry

This is a fun picture and it certainly does recall the movie. I'm a bit bothered, though, by the colour cast that makes parts of the boy's skin look quite blue. Also the little spot at the end of the boy's nose is a bit distracting. I would clone it out.
