This was a difficult shot to take. The movie itself is animated, so giving the shot an animated feel without using photoshop was a problem. I used a blue filter, several close up filters, a density filter, and a haze filter to create the effect. I took a lot of shots, first with a flash, and couldn't get the look I was going for. So I turned to a tripod, and a longer exposure time, and came up with what you see now.

What's this doing all the way down here at 54?? After all, it is an 'animated' movie which I think you've created an excellent interpretation of. I personally haven't seen the film but a quick search on google revealed some movie shots which IMO your submission definitely relates to.

An excellent shot, good work!!

This picture doesn't do anything for me. It's overprocessed and I can't really identify with it or identify anything in it. I don't like the Photoshop/PSP processing and I think the lack of detail hurts the image.

Hmm. Loved the movie but I don't remember this part.
Regardless, I like the perspective you've taken on this shot; the angle commends this composition. The blue layer and whatever filter you applied to the image make it seem surreal. For me, the aspect you've given the foremost subject (especially noticible on its arms as they stand out from their background) draw me into the story of the picture to spend more time engaging the elements of this photo. The lighting on the subject at the top right corner could be changed so that it didn't contain such black space within its outlines. Overall - 8

Action figures in the grass? Looks interesting, and normally I wouldn't care for the effect at all, but I do think that it does make for a good representation for an animated movie. The blob to the right of the photo is a little odd and distracts a lot from the characters. Otherwise, I like the DOF, with the front guy being really detailed and the back guy being kind of background noise. Nice job. ~Heather~
