Funny shot. Bringing out the greens a bit more may have made the cow pop better (not that you want a cow to pop mind you - that would be a mess). Not much else I can add to make it better oustide of completeing out the yellow on the cow.

Imaginitive photo! I like the idea but wish that you had been able to get all the little white areas yellow, I think that would have increased your score a lot. A tighter crop make have worked a little better also, maybe putting the whole cow on the thirds, or really tight crop with the eye and head in the top thirds, either way a fun photo with lots of creativity.

Thirty years ago I took a picture of a cow in a field. And ever since then my entire family, especially my mother-in-law, has assumed I have a thing for them. I now have a huge collection of knick-knacks, stuffed animals, pictures, etc.

And my cow wasn't nearly this good.

Great color balance and the bored confidence of the animal rounds out the clever absurdity of being yellow. I like it a lot. you were robbed by the voters.

I've come back to this one a few times, but I really like it and think it should have at least broken a 5.0!

It's a really imaginative shot, and works very well.

The only technical suggestions I can think of are; Tighter crop around the cow. Shooting at a different time of day to get more interesting lighting/shadows on the grass. Focus.

Apologies, in advance!!

First, so as not to cow tow to you, this could have been an udder disaster, but you horned in and milked it for all it was worth! Now hope you do not get de-fence-ive, but you must weed through all the comments and squeeze out the good ones!

Actually, I really think you did a good job on this, missed a couple small white spots on cow, but that may be natural??? LOL. May trying to crop the photo different, getting the cow on maybe the lower left third line? Think that may give it a bit more pizazz, this is of course, MY OPINION< only.. LOL

It definitely has the "spy camera" look.

Not sure if the spy camera look is really the best medium to score points...

I'm concerned that if I say it's soft and the colors are a bit weak (grass, weeds, yellow in the cow), you might have put these features in there for effect.

It's a fun picture though and I do actually like it.

I thought this was quite funny and fairly well done for a picture of a cow in a field. How to make it better? Not sure - I think you did a good job with what you set out to do, and the post processing on the cow is quite good.

Hilarious shot...could have used a closer image and a little sharper focus...otherwise I love the idea

This is my kind of picture - off the wall and with humour too! While I can see that editing out the grey weeds would help - also seems to be some other curious artefacts in there as well - I think this great image suffers from the dpc "humour is not funny" syndrome. Personally, I love it!

That's funny. :) I think compositionally I'd have liked it better if I could have seen the cow's legs and hooves entirely, but you can't go bossing them around, I suppose. :) Otherwise very nicely done.

Ha! Great image. I always wondered why cheddar cheese was yellow, now I know! Nice color, clarity is great, ambient light looks a bit low but it works very nicely. Love the humor of the image and the composition is simple but well executed. 7.

I believe you mean "Cheddar Cow Spotted." It's a nice enough photo except that the gray weeds look really out of place. Under advanced editing, I believe one might be able to clone out the worst of them. Same for the white spot on the cow's neck. Cows and minimalism seem to go well together, and this is one more good example.
