Your Interpretation of the challenge is good, but I think the focus could be better given the subject was stationary.

Some noise. Lower your ISO setting a bit. Should reduce the noise. High F stop setting would give the pens more details. Composition is very nice.

purely lit and not very sharp, but the idea is good and the colour could have been enhanced by better light.

Different lighting, maybe from the top right, would have made this a better shot. Keep exploring it, you got the right idea!

quite a novel idea. maybe the shadows could have been made a bit subtle / blurred.
