My daughter was asleep but uncovered.
Her strained facial expression was because she was dreaming. I thought this might make an interesting photo. Hopefully people can appreciate the art of form and shape here and not exploit the nude factor in their minds. Nothing is showing except her Structure.

Wonderful tone and texture - and the pattern of the pillow is quite serendipitous - really adds nicely. To me this shows the fragility and wonder of youth. A striking and emotive capture!

beautiful work, all of them. tone, composition, lighting, feeling. just lovely, in a dark and brooding kind of way. thank you.

After reading your comment I immediately searched on Google to Sally Mann. Awesome stuff. Thanks for mentioning it!

And I second all what xianart said. Your stuff is great, Kelly.

Excellent composition, wonderful choice of duotone. The subject's shape leads the eye up to her face perfectly, where we see an unexpected expression. The background behind her head is an excellent counter-balance to the smoothness below. This is an exceptional image that stands tall on its own. Wish people weren't so hung up on imaginary "issues".

Honestly, with the sepia tones, your daughter being thin enough to see ribs, and the pained expression, it strikes me first like one of the horrific shots from the Holocaust. Interesting shot. I probably would not take something so candid of my kid, but interesting and striking.

Nice photo, but I totally disagree with you on your decision to photograph your child that way.

Very edgy and raw feeling to it - great capture. Powerful image, well presented.

I love the image for the artistic value and the quality of the photography. I'm just not into the nude photos of children thing.

Stunning and beautiful. It's has a raw edge to it because she was asleep, yet it's almost like you set up your own light. I love the vintage feel to it and the texture throughout the skin. First rate man

Love it. The perpendicular (sp?) lines of her leg and arm are great, and I have to agree that the print of the fabric together with that particular tone makes it have a Victorian feel to it. Nicely done.

Quite a stunning image. It is extremely artful and has no indication of lewdness or exploitation. Having come from an art education family, I have always found the human form to be intricately interesting and beautiful. The paisly of the bed clothes in combination with the post editing filter really makes for an enduring thoughtful capture. The almost S curve is showcased by the darks and lights. Awesome.
