How hard is it to get a cat to look into a hole? You might be surprised! Mostly they wanted to put thier feet in to get the prize out (a toy)!

I've wanted to try this since I first saw this image, what better reason than Deja Vu!!
Lit with a very close desk lamp, peering into a box with a cartoon style "mouse" hole cut into it, camera lens inside the other end of the box

Some levels, some saturation.
used some layers, one to soften fur, another to pop the eye a bit more
Rotate, USM, resized for DPC

I absolutely can't get over this picture. I love it inside and out. Everything is just perfect about it, the detail in the eye, the shadows, the lighting, the cat's expression...! It's a Wonderful and truely extraordinary shot.

I was on vacation when this challenge happened... it just came to my attention that someone liked mine well enough to redo it for this challenge.

I do have to say I think yours is much more artistic than mine. I really dig it. I think that if you would have put this up in the origial challenge I was in you would have won it. I think that voting might me harsher now than it was about two years ago.

Well done, and thank you for the honor.

btw - I used a lazer pointer to make the cat interested in the hole ;-) Cats are suckers!

Oh - oops - didn't read down there. Thank you for clearing that up. Mystery solved.

Again, good shot(s). Especially like the green eye in yours.

I gave this a 9. Good depiction, without being a direct copy of:

(baffles me that the original was a real mousehole) edit: wasn't

this is one of rare cases when I like the "copy" more than original. The lightling is definitely better here. Of course the original has the advantage of being ...uhm ...original :). Regardless, great shot!

I generally dislike pet pictures, but the color in the cats eye is amazing.

Pretty good job on the lighting, it makes this shot work, I love the shadow over the right part of the face.
