I was going to do the Low Key Challenge instead, but I just KNEW there would be all kinds of delicious statuesque buildings and such, and I just couldn't compete with that. Not with basic editing anyway. I took a shot of the court house and a memorial, but they all came out wrong. I forgot my tripod, and it was just a mess of distractions and blur. So it came to be where I entered this candid shot. I love the details. Hope you like it as well.

Thank you graphicfunk! As always, you are a peach for recognizing how far I have come since being here! Fifteenth place is a very happy place for me to be with so many entries. I am very proud! Thanks!!
the areas in shade are too dark. The fingers in the lighter area appear to be over-sharpened. While you did capture expression, making this a nice emotive study, it could have been improved with better contrast too.
very nice textures, the slackening of skin in both hands and face is well rendered here. I don't think the title helps you because I see less fretting than deliberation in his face, and your title tells me something I don't see. Great DOF and the slide of tones across the frame really centers the eye on the facial features and the hamds. Is this John's? It has his quality, ought to ribbon.
AWESOME! Really a piece of art. I am incredibly moved by the texture and composition of this photo. The borders add to the photo and make it a print worth hanging on the wall. GREAT JOB!!
