Tribute to Experiance by Egillbjarki which is one of my newest favourites. Don't think I have nailled this one but I've been keen to do more portrait work recently and had taken the shot as a personal excercise only to arrive home and find the new tribute challenge on DPC. Talk about lucky!
Thanks to Martin for sitting.
Half a dozen shots grabbed at tea break, total time 5 mins.
Not quite first but the 2nd uploaded submission for this challenge, I think that's a record for me.

I voted the low-key challenge and think this image beats everything there. Faces are such great studies in photography. They will never go out of style. Yours is one of the best ones I've seen in a while and a top three pick from me. Kudos to you.
This was our favorite of all the "experience" shots. Definitley has the most character of them all. The lighting is very nice. Overall a great photo. In our top 3 - not counting my own of course ;)
It's a different feel than the original but I like it. In this particular picture I would have sharpened areas of the face by using layer masks with soft transitions so that for instance the cheeks would have been more weathered but the area between nose and lip would have remained somewhat softer.
