Location: Hertfordshire, UK
Date: Jul 4, 2002
Aperture: 5.6

I took this shot using a long exposure, changing the zoom setting during exposure. I used a second curtain sync flash to fill in the colour and detail of the car.

Fear of cars backing away from you?
07/14/2002 05:15:00 PM
interesting effect here - looks like embossed?

I think this concept would have been more powerful if you had a picture from the inside of the car, seeing someone you're about to hit.. but more in a humorous kind of way I guess, otherwise it's just morbid ;) But i like the movement with the lights! Good job :)

This is a really cool effect for fear. It looks like I'm gonna get run over by this car for sure! I also like the way you used your exposure to create the sense of motion and by having the car move backwards to create that feeling... great shot! = 9 - jmsetzler

Using front curtan flash the car looks like it's backing away from me. Good idea though, and with the traffic here also it's a real fear. Shey.

very cool affects
07/09/2002 04:22:00 PM
Good shot, would like to know how?
07/09/2002 03:38:00 PM
Good idea "7", damn GTI drivers. Dogman ;]
07/09/2002 12:46:00 PM
Cunning! I'm guessing this was done by zooming the lens during exposure?
Gives an almosr surreal image - if the front of the car hadn't gone transparent then this would have been very scary!

This is my favourite for the challenge. It matches the theme nicely and is a great capture of fear. I just wonder how it would turn up if you gave it a slight angle, maybe at 45 degrees. Great shot!

So last 2 weeks.
07/08/2002 08:50:00 PM
Woh ya! Get out of the way! LOL. Nice.
07/08/2002 07:35:00 PM
This would work better with a camera with reverse curtain sync, or a car that was going backwards (!) - this would mean that the light 'trials' were behind the clear image of the car. Also, centre the car horizontally and make sure it is straight!

Great effect! I had thought about doing something like this, but couldn't figure out how to make it "scary". Well done! 8 Swash
07/08/2002 04:21:00 PM
Interesting how the car almost seems like it's bouncing backwards.
07/08/2002 12:02:00 PM
cool! : )
07/08/2002 05:25:00 AM
Very dramatic..I like it though!! Great shot.
