All 007 has to do is kill one of the most deadly freelance hit-men in the world - one Paco 'Pistols' Scaramanga, the Man with the Golden Gun. - from The Man With the Golden Gun by Ian Fleming.
Playing the role of Paco 'Pistols' Scaramanga is yours truly.
I was looking at my bookshelf, for an idea, and came across my Bond books. The first one I considered was Goldfinger, but didn't want to paint my finger gold. So instead, I took this old prop gun and painted it. Went out and got the tux shirt and tie from Hobby Lobby to go with my old jacket. I had to tape the tie to the collar, as it kept bending down.
For lighting, I used my Novatron lighting system, bounced off the back wall and back onto me. Camera settings were manual. It took a few shots to get it right. I kept getting the white shirt blown out. And then a few more shots to get a pose I liked. This was shot # 122. The reason for the cut-off head, is for that air of mystery. Makes you wonder, who is this guy.
PSPX edits:
Crop, clone some lint, a zit, and the tip of my ear, color balance, clarify +2, saturation shift -15, and resize.

Great idea and well executed. I think more dramatic lighting (more shadows, even a little)would have enhanced the mood. -7 |

To me, the idea is ok. However, I am impressed with the exposure. You did a nice job with a difficult subject... black, white, and gold all in the same image. An exposure nightmare. Nice job. |

Very well done - I would have gien it an even higher score with a crop that stopped just above the bow tie. |

either a little less (no mouth) or a little more in the crop to make this image just a bit better. it also seems like he is leaning off to the right side of the image, not very strong |

hehe, I keep on trying to scroll up to see the models face (you?). Not much to say other than a well exposed and framed shot, the jacket button is a little distracting for me though. |
